I hate crowded sumps, lol. Thats why I run 40 breeders with no baffles.
Sock, carx, media reactor, large skimmer, heater during winter only.
Ato with Kamoer effluent pump and 15 watt UV.

How do you control the skimmer with no baffle? I also currently have a baffleless sump but the skimmer works ok 95% of the time and goes crazy 5% of the time. With a baffle it was much better, so that's the only part I don't like.

Currently in a 29, I have a skimmer, return, 2 heaters.

Well I run Tunze skimmers. They have anti overflow and you just set it and forget it. Empty the cup and thats it. Very underrated skimmers imo.

Do you have an ato? My Tunze ato keeps the water level constant also. I run a Tunze ato on my 20g but no skimmer.

Anti overflow. Interesting. I think nine is a Red Sea 300 or 600. Yeah, I run an ato.

I run an 9430dc on my 80g and a 9410dc on my 45. One piece of equipment I never worry about.
My 9410dc is comepletly covered in coralline and just keeps going.
Here it is. Never cleaned the barrel and it been running 2.5 years now.

  • Roller Fleece
  • refugium
  • dual heaters
  • skimmer
  • carbon/gfo reactor + pump
  • kalkwasser reactor
  • bunch of life-support equipment (controllers, alkatronic/mastertronic, dosers, etc)
    • And yes, my alkatronic reagent container is a bedazzled Starbucks cup my wife received as a gift that she wasn't too keen on using. Turned out to be the perfect size for my needs!
