It would be great to get everyone's feedback on how you plan for the worst-case scenario hoping for the best.
Specifically, what should we have on hand we all know backup power, spare pumps, heaters etc what about additives and such.

I once had an ich outbreak that wiped out all my fishes. This time I have a cleaner wrasse and it is doing a good job. I had and still have a cyano problem, got myself a pair of hermits and a pair of snails to fix it. it has reduced but still there.

I'm just a basic backup guy. Portable generator pumps etc. I have enough additives on hand for probably a month but don't actually stock pile them I just don't like to run out. I have some copper power and prazi on hand but it's left over stuff not bought to keep on hand. These days I'm not actively adding fish and when I do I keep new fish in an observation QT for at least a month ussualy longer. If I were adding fish often I would probably have some other meds on hand.

As I am in planning stage still, I'm working on a list of things I should have too. So far it includes some RODI water in a Brute,
Salt Mix, another Brute with a water change ready to go, a battery back up, a generator, a QT, a bag of Seachem Matrix in a bag stored in my sump to put in a hollowed out HOB for the QT (beneficial bacteria in a bag) and a few of the 1,000,000 antibiotics available on hand (Coppersafe, Seachem Kanaplex, Seachem Neoplex, Ruby Rally Pro and Maracyn). I will also be running redundancy with return pumps and heaters.

I keep a backup of pretty much every component. For power issues, I keep a couple of battery operated pumps as well as a generator.
