Hi all,
Anyone here with Steve’s LEDs in their biocube hood? I noticed when I unplugged them today that two of the connectors under the splash guard appear to be browning, exactly how receipt paper will turn brown under heat. It’s on the negative connections on each light strip, none of the others show signs of this.
I know absolutely nothing about electronics but this looks like potential trouble to me. The light is working fine now, I wouldn’t have noticed it unless I turned them completely off which I rarely do. I am worried they will randomly burn out one day if this gets worse. So any other Steve’s users see this on their units? I’ve been running mine for about a year.

Edit - after reviewing the photos again I realized that the brown areas are in the direct path of the purple/violet iridescence booster LEDs..maybe it is this light that is turning them brown?

Thanks!

The interior side of the connectors that get no blue light have not turned brown, makes me think this is less of a heat/electronic issue and more of a blue light turning the paint/metal another color like receipt paper.

The second pic is the right side of the LEDs which don’t have a deep blue diode right next to the connectors - only a white LED. No color change there.

Anyone else notice this on their unit?
