Well I decided to start a separate build thread for my frag tank since it is extremely low tech vs my display tank so I figured it deserved it’s own thread.

Tank - standard Aqueon 20g long (30”x12”x12”)
Filtration - Aqueon QuietFlow20 (This came with the 15g column tank I bought as a Refugium for my display tank)
Skimmer - tunze 9001
Flow - Jeabo OW10 and a Hydor nano
Lighting - ATI 24” 4 bulb T5 with 3 blue plus and a coral plus (about 120 par on the bottom and 250 on the top rack of the frag rack)
Cover - I used a 24” standard glass lid so that the filtration can be on one side and I can open the lid with no issues.
Biological filtration - live rock rubble and some flucal bio media

Things I need:
1. Some sort of ATO
2. I’m sure I’ve forgotten something

You might of just forgotten to put it in the equipment list but a good heater. Otherwise looking good
Lol yeah completely forgot that, I have a preset 100w aqueon in there now but I will be putting a cobalt in it once I get my new BRS heaters for my display tank

Added some new T5’s. Definitely brighter but since I swapped a blue plus with a Geismann super actinic it’s is about the same par

currently running
Blue + / Super actinic / Coral + / Blue +
I like the color, I’m hoping the super actinic gets a little more pop from the corals as they really looked pale in the tank before. My orange yuma already looks brighter

Hey,

tank looks great. Love the 20 long. Gives a nice foot print for swimming and groung for coral. Also on shallow side to help par. Keep up the pics

Thanks, it has been a nice cheap setup as a frag tank. I had pretty much everything except for the Jaebo pump I added to it for flow. Zoa’s, GSP and Yumas seem to like it and are starting to grow. Now that it’s getting stable I will be dragging a bunch of stuff from my display tanks so it should fill in nicely. My plan is once I fill this tank to put a second one next to it using a sbreef led I have sitting around gathering dust
