I was just coming back from my LFS and was told that Congress has passed a law to ban the transport of live fish across state lines, and now it is in the Senate up for a vote. Is that correct? Did anyone hear the same? The LFS said they tried to pass this a few years ago, including dogs and cats, but the pushback was strong, and it did not pass. Now, dogs and cats are removed, but the rest is still in place. It would be a disaster not just for us as hobbyists but also for a whole industry.

Yea there is a lot of threads on it. Hopefully it is amended out. I believe it effects reptiles and birds? And so on. It seems tough to pass without effecting jobs and money and small businesses and just a lot of people.

Stuff like this should be left to individual states to control. It’s not like a lionfish is going to take over and be invasive in Wisconsin.
