Large white spot on Tsa bill murray

Hey all, on 4/1 I noticed this white spot show up on my bm.

I've been monitoring it and it's been very slowly growing although the growth of the spot has slowed down a lot now. I've noticed some algea growing on the white area now. The rest of the coral is happy (colors, growing, PE). No other issues in the tank.

I do water changes 1x/mo and change about 20%.

Params have been stable. I did notice lower sg prior to my last water change and mixed extra salty water to bring it back to 35ppt. It was at 33.9ppt prior to the change. My last w/c was on 3/28, just before this showed up. Once it showed up I assumed it was stn that would recover but was the result of the sg change (stupid me). Anyways, it doesn't seem to be recovering better and wondering what to do next.

The colony looks amazing, and if the spot has stopped getting larger then I would not worry to much. it now has well defined edges which is an indicator that it is beginning to grow tissue over the exposed area. It should continue to do so. Keep an eye on it, and if it starts to get bigger, cut it off above the spot and re-glue the colony to the aquascape.

Looks like shading to me.
This happens as the colony grows out and the top shades the bottom.
The only way around it is a blanket of light.

The colony looks amazing, and if the spot has stopped getting larger then I would not worry to much. it now has well defined edges which is an indicator that it is beginning to grow tissue over the exposed area. It should continue to do so. Keep an eye on it, and if it starts to get bigger, cut it off above the spot and re-glue the colony to the aquascape.

I would definitely consider cutting it above the damaged tissue. I would also dip it in a Potassium Chloride dip to make sure there are no pests causing this.

Strange, my pink highlighter and jf jolt are the slowest while the BM is super fast.

No nearby corals other than... More bill Murray's that I cut off it before (or a fish knocked off). I dipped it but like a dummy didn't inspect it for bugs. Sigh.

Yep. T5's are off in the photo. No other corals have shadowing on that side similarly positioned.
