I have an old stand from an 18 x 18 cube that I use to have that I was thinking about modifying to use with my IM Lagoon 25. The dimensions of the top is 22" x 22" which will not work with the dimensions of the Lagoon 25 (24" x 20"). If I were to attach a 24 x 24 piece of plywood on top, there would be a 1" overhang on all sides. Do you think it would be safe to use that way? Thoughts? I am trying to avoid building a stand if possible as this one is pretty nice when cleaned up. I would have to do a little prep work to the top before I glued the new plywood on.

The title should say IM Lagoon 25 stand....:rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

is the cabinet made to support the weight of a full aquarium? If so, I don't think it would be any issue to attach a properly sized piece of plywood on top and use it as such. If not, I'd probably want to either reinforce the interior with 2x4 or build a new stand. Building a stand that size would be relatively quick, cheap and easy.

I tried to do the same thing when I started with this rank did a 2 inch overhang off the back, but I took the advice that I didn't really want to hear and bought a new stand.

It is built to support a full tank. If I determine this isn't a good option, I will build a plywood stand as I think I have a sheet of ply in the shed.
