Saw this guy looks like he was cleaning out that cerith snail shell. Came from reef cleaners, supposed to be astrea.

Yeah, neither of those resemble an Astrea/Astraea snail - the little one seems like it may be a Bruised Nassa, Phrontis vibex (A.K.A. Nassarius vibex).

Regardless, it's definitely a carnivorous snail, but I wouldn't expect it to go hunting other healthy snails - the Cerith was most likely dead/dying, and the other one took advantage of the free meal.

I made a mistake, this was the list that came in. I have them in a cup, took the picture on the counter.

28 Dwarf Ceriths

11 Nassarius

9 Florida Ceriths

11 Astraea Snails


So the Florida Cerith (left) was probably already done for? and the Nassarius is doing its job? The empty shell and the nass can go back in then?
