I installed the Red Sea Reef Mat 250 this past Saturday and then did my weekly 10 gallon water change on Sunday. I siphoned my sand bed to help clean it up while doing the water change.

Tuesday came along and my tank started getting brown all over the sand, rock and glass. It just keeps getting worse each day since. I have attached a video that I just took this evening.

The tank has been cycled for 2 months now. I have 2 clown fish, watchman gobie and pistol shrimp, and various CUC. My Nitrates are at 5 ppm and phosphate at 0.03.

I know the tank is still new and will keep going through various stages while it matures. I just wanted to post on here to make sure this isn’t anything serious that I should be worried about. Any advice or guidance is GREATLY appreciated as this is my first reef tank and I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. IMG_3636.jpeg IMG_3635.jpeg

Diatoms. Just the uglies. They'll go away on their own. Here's a thread I found with additional info.
Thread 'Brown Algae / Diatoms in new system' https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/brown-algae-diatoms-in-new-system.424934/

The other one didn't work?
