Just started my first reef tank

I'm new here and new to this hobby the bottom pic
is my tank set up started about 4 weeks ago with live sand and live rock no fish yet getting a couple soon...... But I turned on the light for the tank and saw this guy, is this a good or bad hitchhiker looks to me like a cleaner shrimp IMG20240912201041.jpg IMG20240825202621.jpg

Welcome to R2R! that looks like a Sexy shrimp! an awesome and mostly reef safe hitch hiker! I've heard of them bothering zoas and the anemone that they host.

Welcome to R2R! that looks like a Sexy shrimp! an awesome and mostly reef safe hitch hiker! I've heard of them bothering zoas and the anemone that they host.
Thank you for that info it looked like a shrimp to me just wasn't sure and what kind it was lol, and I have no corals it's just the love sand and rock (3 of the rocks are live rock from the LFS) planning on getting a couple fish either this weekend or next weekend definitely not going to rush then the soft coral/anemone are next

No problem! Yeah take your time and wait for your tank to mature a little bit before getting corals and especially anemones. Soft corals are great to start and are super hardy!

No problem! Yeah take your time and wait for your tank to mature a little bit before getting corals and especially anemones. Soft corals are great to start and are super hardy!
Definitely taking my time it's been at least 4 weeks just running and doing it's thing starting to see algae on the rocks and sand and also starting to see these what looks long little white fuzzy balls on the rock
