John Guest Fittings and ozone?

Why do they use 1/4” tubing for the line. My skimmer is 3/8 to the Venturi. Guess since I have it made up I will use until it gets destroyed and then have to figure out how to T in the ozone and my line outside which grabs fresh air.

Here’s the John Guest fitting I made, but I ended up finding a black T at my local hardware store which may be better. The black fitting is PolyEthylene as opposed to the John Guest fitting which is polypropylene
