Hello,
Recently, my jebao dcp-5000 pump have started working very strangely. It works normally up to 40% power. When I set it above 40%, I can see on the screen that power increases but after reaching this 40% power level, it drops back to zero and this reapeats itself endlessly. No error code is shown.

What do you think can be wrong with this pump? Is it connected with pump module itself or the controller is the issue there?

Thanks in advance for all the replies.

Sorry I have no specific advice, any chance you're able to return the device? I have the SCP 70 gyres and have also found their functionality and controllers lackluster at best. Would not buy again. Hygger makes higher quality products in a similar price range.

The controllers are junk imo; bet it's that. I'd probably buy the same one and swap the controller. If it works shelve the new pump as cold spare. If it doesn't work... Well yiu have a new pump already. Good luck

Probably the power supply but make sure it is not in locked mode.
Lock / unlock function: press the "+" or "-" button for three seconds until the LED light flash for two times, the controller locked; Similarly, press the "+" or "-" button for three seconds again, LED indicator light flashes for two times, the controller unlocked 4

Thanks for all your very helpful comments:).
The powersupply is likely faulty if it does that.
OH I totally forgot about this part of the device:grinning-squinting-face:. This may be great clue. But beside that part this pump works on cheap eu plug adapter which after a few years became quite loose. I am going to buy new one anyway but do you think it may be the problem? Maybe when the higher current runs thru it, a short circuit occurs?

Yeah, I think if changing the power supply won't work out it will be the next step. I agree, the controllers are junk but in my situation i shouldn't complain because this pump has been working in my tank for 4 years without any problems. While I was reading other threads about it on this forum, it turned out that it is ubelievebly great score:)

PS Sorry for my english but it's not my native language;)

They use crummy power supplies. If you have a multi meter, check the output voltage at the barrel connector. Should be 24 Vdc. If not, that's the problem.

I am lucky.

I have 3 Jebao return pumps still running after 5 years.

I have 6 gyres and 6 Ow’s 5 years plus.

So far, best priced pump I’ve ever used.

Must be luck of the draw.
Yeah I am a huge jebao fan. I am even a fan of the wifi controllers, but I got tricks up my sleeve to get them on a mesh network so I have a better time than most setting them up

With the Power Supply unplugged, Clean the Three Prongs Connector with either RO/DI Water or Distilled, Scrape the Plugs and Sockets with a Toothpick. Re-Flush with water. Blot with a Paper Towel. Flush with 91 to 99 % Isopropyl Alcohol. Let Dry Completely, plug Three Prong Connection, back in. Also check the Power Supply Connection, and do the same as above, if you see even a tiny bit of Dirt or Corrosion. After all is Dry, plug into Surge Protection Power Strip.
