Trying to reduce some of my nitrates (ie hair algae growth) and would like to add some Chaeto and maybe some other beneficial types of macroalgae in my fuge. I am planning on adding a Kessil H80 light as well. Looking for someone that may be harvesting some of theirs. Gladly will pay for it and shipping to the middle of nowhere in Wy, however, free is always nice. Thanks!

I am using a 30 gallon tank that I put baffles in. The area that I will be using for Chaeto is about 12x12x16.

If your fuge was 10x10 or smaller the H80 would work great...not sure it would be strong enough for a 12x12. Mine is 10x11 and it didn't seem to be strong enough

Thanks! I was hoping not having to spend so much on the H380. I will PM you my address and let me know what the shipping is. I really appreciate it!

Ill measure it when I get home from work to see what the dimensions are. Any other less expensive recommendations? After 3 kid birthdays, a new child, and Christmas this month-I am a bit stretched thin this time of year;Blackeye

There are quite a few different options. 6500k cfl bulb, there are a bunch of grow lights available on amazon for 40 to 70 bucks.

That looks like a good option. I certainly like the price as long as it works. If it doesn't, I guess I could use it to start my garden seeds in the spring. I like that it is already in its own housing as opposed to having to hang a socket with a reflector.
Yeah my wife is a gardener. I "borrowed" one of these from her seedling rack, and it worked really well. And it fit my sump dimensions: SCORE! Merry Christmas!

I use the same light for my ATS, mangroves and cheeto.

Holy Cow! My house would look like a UFO just landed with that 300 wt burning all night. LOL
I know right!! You'd have to mount that thing 5 feet off the waters surface to not completely obliterate everything lol
