Hello all. I have spotted this. I have had aptasia before but it’s always been really thin and this is very chunky. Sorry for the poor picture quality I cannot get the camera to focus when it’s zoomed in this far. 1A879CEE-7E31-431C-B9B4-76839EED8D66.jpeg

it does appear so, noticed that you have some zoas that look like it, could it one of those?
Ah thanks. That is a chunky boy. I’ll get him out

I was hoping it is but I don’t think it is. The zoas glow pretty well under the blues and this is almost invisible.

ok so it is not a zoa. it does look like a aptasia, just making sure you dont roast you coral. yeah probably aptasia, i am assuming you know how to deal with?
It was aptasia I’ve pulled it out was able to get a grip on it with my tongs. Usually I pull the rock and scrape them off. I’ve not had to use aptasia x or anything yet.

i wouldnt do that, as if a little bit is left, they can survive and overcome your tank quite quickly, i would make a kalk slurry and turkey baster it on the little b*st*rd.
Ordered some haha. Thanks!!

Looks like Aptastia unfortunately. But do yourself a favor and order some Bhergia nudibranchs. It will help keep the problem at bay before it even takes off. Don't do what I did and try to kill it on your own haha:

Perfect thanks! I did read somewhere that they’ll die if there’s no aptasia for them to eat though. I’ve only got one as far as I can see and don’t want to be cruel by putting one in and it starving.

Sure is. For small ones you can use kalk paste or remove - but if you make it angry it can multiply if you don't get it all.

You’re completely right, they only eat aptasia and will starve if you don’t have a steady supply. If you’re interested in animal control, peppermint shrimp also eat aptasia, as well as other detritus so they can be a fun addition to your tank that will address aptasia but won’t starve when it’s gone, assuming you have fish and feed them regularly.
