Is this aiptasia? Got some new zoas and noticed this..

I had a friend that is getting a new tank, so had to get rid of a lot of his corals.

Some of his zoas have feather dusters, which I’ve heard are healthy for a mature tank.

These pink cat eyes are the only corals that have these. They’ve been in my tank for about a week and have now popped up. He only had them for about a month, and got them from a seasoned reefer.

I’m a new reefer and have just heard horror stories about aiptasia. They kinda resemble them, but are so small it’s hard to tell.

I was curious if a more experienced reefer thought they were feather dusters or aiptasia. Or hell maybe something else ‍. The picture might be too difficult to tell.

Could be digitate hydroids but it's very hard to tell with the heavy blue light. Could you possibly turn your lights whiter for a clearer picture?

I’ll get a better shot of them in the morning. Lights get blue in the evening and the photos turn out way more blue than it actually appears in person.

A lot easier to see in these pictures. I’m curious what everyone thinks. The only Zoa with them on them.

Looks like peppermint shrimp and emerald crabs can help get rid of these pests. Looking like ill be adding new additions soon to the tank.

Those are colonial hydroids and nothing typically eats them. If the frag wasn't too expensive, I recommend tossing it... you REALLY do not want those to spread!

I dipped them tonight and scrubbed the zoas w a q-tip. Probably got about 90% off from what I could tell. Going to repeat again a few more times this week. If they don’t improve I’ll take your advice and just get rid of them both. I have both frags isolated now on two small rock islands.
