Looks like it is starting to bleach out.

From too much light? I ask because I'm working a trade with a guy that has this yuma and want to make sure I'm getting a pink yuma. He said they are pink and not orange, maybe his W.B. on his camera is off a little.

I have seen those many times, they are a more common color morph. Orange on the tips and bluish base. They are beauties but then again I'm a HUGE fan of all yumas :) In my opinion tho they are not pink. That ones not for sure but then again most 'pink' yumas are really orange or bleached orange. Pink is super duper rare. Ime and others I believe the survivability of wild yumas is questionable so collect with caution.

Don't get ripped on this one tho, its maybe work $20 for a med polyp, vs $200 maybe more for a real pink, and $50-$100 for a solid colored orange/pink

to be honest these things are coming in like crazy right now and not worth very much. Not sure why but we can get huge rocks of the all orange with blue base yumas we want for next to nothing. many times they come in just like what you have there which in my opinion is a bleached out orange yuma. it should not be see through at all.

also as a side note that brown stick looking algea all over the place is a HUGE pain in the *** to get rid of. i belive its a type of worm actually. cant hurt anything but it gows FAST and everywhere.. make sure if you get some to clean it off ASAP

Maybe. Could be water condition. I bought some blue base orange yumas in the past that bleached out and look like the ones in the picture. I bought it from a lfs that had them under direct metal halide. Got it home in about 30min., acclimated and it turned glowing pink in a few days. I was able to recover it with low light. Not sure if it was lighting that bleached it or water. I think the lfs had there system running on natural sea water.

Not saying the guy doesn't have a pink yuma, it just look like my orange when it was bleaching out.

The pink yuma's I've come across have a green outer rim.

The wild ones are not that bad in price. You take your own risk. It is the agriculture ones, that people put a higher price tag on.

True pink yuma (plus others) but I've seen brighter.

The oranges are pretty common as people have pointed out. I've always been told you can tell yumas by the bumps on the mouth but I'm not positive about that.
