Hi, I inherited some live rock and decided to add it to my tank with just a rinse and light toothbrush scrubbing. A couple weeks in this has popped up. Green fluorescent tips. Is this coral or something I should remove?

Looks like GSP (green str polyps). They are a coral. They spread easily and quickly, so have the possibility of taking over entire rocks/systems. Some people want this, others don’t want it to out swarm other corals so don’t like it. If you don’t want it to spread maybe try to break that part of the rock off.

I was going to say "yes". It sure looks like GSP which is a coral that some people consider a pest. It's a cool looking, fast growing soft coral that can become invasive.

. Great! Thanks everyone. I’m relatively new and have only seen GSP as bigger clumps, not in individual polyps like this. I’m sure this will be a big clump soon enough :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

The one Gsp we have in our tank grows just about every single day, haha.
