Is there a way to simultaneously run 2 dos at the same time?

I'm currently quarantining some coral. I'm using the drain line of my awc from my display to the quarantine tank in an attempt to not have to dose alk, nitrate, and phosphate. I set up a separate dos to remove the exact same amount of water from the quarantine tank. However, because the DOS don't run at the same time, I'm getting salinity fluctuations that have already cost me 2 sps frags.

Is there a way to synchronize the two dos units so that they run at the same exact time?

I use the dos for AWC and even with a very compact schedule it add/removes about a max of 500 ml each time it runs during the schedule. For example I change 1.5 gallons per night over a 2 hour period and it swaps out 473 ml every 10 minutes. If you spread that schedule out over a much longer time it will be less than 100 ml per run and that should hardly affect salinity.

That's what I thought initially when I set it up, but unfortunately, it hasn't worked out that way. I was getting a lot of evaporation in the quarantine tank, so I set up an ato. Sometimes the qt_out dos takes water out before the display out puts it in and so the ato kicks on. My salinity has been anywhere from 31ppt to 34ppt in a given day.

How many gallons is your frag tank? Unless my calculations are wrong you would have to replace about 10% of the volume of saltwater with freshwater to cause it to drop 3 ppt. It’s hard to imagine you are removing that much of the total volume between the 10 minute intervals of the DOS unless your frag tank is like 2.5 gallons??

I do 5 gallon water changes on my main display. My quarantine tank is a 40 gallon breeder that I have filled with 30g of water. So I'm putting in 5 gallons of waste from my display into my quarantine tank and taking out 5 gallons from the quarantine to the drain.

Have you tried copying the programming from DOS 1 to DOS 2?

How do I do that? I set up the awc from my display through the apex fusion task. There's no programming in the advanced tab that I can copy.

On the screen where you view the add or remove schedule there is a icon for output configuration that will show the code for the schedule that looks something like this:

Fallback OFF
tdata 01:00:00,1,21,1,77,4,116,3,1,78,0,120,19,0
tdata 02:00:00,1,16,18,122,2,88,12,18,122,0,0,10,0

3 ppt just seems like a an awfully big swing to have in 40 gallon tank. It would be easy to drop that much by removing 4 gallons and replacing with ro/di only but going back up 3 ppt would require losing 4 gallons to evaporation without topping off. Are you sure this isn’t a measurement error? I.e using a calibrated refractometer to confirm the salinity readings?

I would think that if you copy the exact same code, the two would be in synch.
