Does this effect the fish around him if I put him in my tank? Specifically clownfish?Looks like a form of dropsy which suggests a bacterial infection or effect from shipping water
@Jay Hemdal
sorry I don’t know much, but what does that mean?Once fish is eating, a little metro and focus will be beneficial
ohhh, where would I get something like it?It’s medicated oral mixed with food for the fish
Quarantine would not be badohhh, where would I get something like it?
Also he has been on the surface for the entire time while doing safety stop. Should I still add him to the main tank? I have a established 10 gallon with no fish that I can put him in if needed
There’s no cover on the 10 gallon aio and it was originally meant for dwarf seahorses ( don’t know if it will effect it) , but I can cover it up with a towel or plastic lids so it won’t jump out, also where would I buy the meds?, also wouldnt peas work instead?(im not sure but I read it on a thread)Quarantine would not be bad
Maracyn 2 will be good treatment. Also ruby rally pro
I’ll add it to the 10 gal for now since the process is almost over, maybe call my lfs to see if they have any treatments, how long would it take for the disease to kill the fish? Also do I try and feed peas an hour after it’s been in the 10g? Or tomorrow? ( sorry for the amount of questions, I’m a bit stressed from the situation and it’s the first time I’ve dealt with something like this and thanks for helping me out, I feel a bit relieved but still a bit stressed)Yes on the pea. Boil it and remove skin and feed the inner greens
No problem on questions. Jay Will likely chime in in the morning, then you know we’re on the same pageI’ll add it to the 10 gal for now since the process is almost over, maybe call my lfs to see if they have any treatments, how long would it take for the disease to kill the fish? Assure fish has adequate oxygen
Sorry to hear, I just woke up and started reading this thread.Update:he didn’t make it
I bought it from the store, I didn’t notice it until I put it into the bucket of solution, do you have an idea of what it was?Sorry to hear, I just woke up and started reading this thread.
In the picture, the swelling looks to be mostly on one side. If so, it wasn’t dropsy, as that would be symmetrical.
Did you buy the fish from a store or was it shipped in? I’m asking because the store should have seen this swelling and not sold the fish.
Finally, this group of wrasses are very delicate. I won’t buy them myself, too difficult to keep...
Jay
If it was protruding on just one side, with the scales protruding like that, either Uronema or a bacterial infection, or both at the same time. Did you happen to notice if it died with its mouth open? If so, then probably Uronema.I bought it from the store, I didn’t notice it until I put it into the bucket of solution, do you have an idea of what it was?
