Is acropora polyp extension of new frags important during acclimation?

I've been slowly acclimating my new acropora frags to my tank - mainly the lighting, bringing the frags up slowly from the bottom of the tank to their new positions.

I haven't seen any of the polyps extend during this process. I'm new to acropora, though I know about their flow and lighting needs - so my question is: how important is polyp extension on new and acclimating frags?

For example, if I don't see extension in the first week, is that a bad sign, or can acropora tough it our for weeks until they're comfy in their new home?

Thanks for any tips!

As stated, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It depends on a lot of factors as to whether or not you see polyp extension immediately. Yes it is a good thing if you do, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing if you don't.

color and growth > polyp extension

Can take weeks or months. Could just happen at night

If you’ve ruled out fish nipping and redbugs/pests, and have good color, I wouldn’t worry about it

Look at them a few hours after the lights go out and there's a good chance you'll see some polyp extension. It's not a big deal if you don't though. I have corals with zero polyp extension that grow normally.

As stated above its a good thing when u see polyps but not necessarily a bad thing when u don't.
I have also seen acros RTN with popping colors and full open polyps
