So my apologies if this has been asked before, but I’ve never had this particular problem. But I have a particular pink zoanthid species that is growing and in my tank like no other. They are beautiful so I didn’t take it seriously at first which was my mistake. Now they are seriously invasive and threatening my SPS. Some have met their demise.
so my question is shy of pulling the rocks out and causing major disruption to the tank. Is there a way to get them to die off? I know I could try to manually pull them out. But I feel I would release a lot of toxin into the water column which I’m going to assume any other means would do the same. I also have the issue with my green palys just not as bad.

many thoughts would be appreciated.

Don't hesitate to pull them out underwater, just make sure you don't have any cuts on your hands and use fresh activated carbon to absorb the toxins.

If the tank volume is small, you may want to split it into multiple treatments.
You'll also find treatments for Aiptesia useful, personally I use kalk paste for hard to reach palys and shrooms and it works well.
