I just wanted to introduce myself formally. I'm originally from India and have lived in Knoxville since 2003. I started off with freshwater back in '03 and about 10 years back switched over to the salty side. My current reef tank has been up and running for ~9 years though I had the misfortune of it nuking this past summer. Our house HVAC went out in the hottest week of the year (Murphy's Law at its finest!) and it took a week to get a new unit installed. No matter how many bags of ice I floated and fans I ran, I just could not bring the temperature down to a safe level. I was not that deep into the hobby so I did not have a chiller unfortunately. I lost all my corals (mostly softies) except for the GSP. Lost all but my yellow watchman goby, pistol shrimp and the clown. They are my oldest inhabitants and I was overjoyed that they survived the apocalypse.
All the corals you see below (except the GSP) have been added since June of this year. Everything stabilized really well quickly after the heating incident and the tank has been doing great since.
Here are the details of my tank:
System info:
36 gal bow front
10 gal sump
Apex controller
Tunze ATO
Stock list:
1 yellow watchman goby
1 clown
1 royal gramma basslet
1 pistol shrimp
Assorted CUC
2 frogspawns
1 torch
1 leptastria
1 birdsnest
1 toadstool
GSP
Zoa frag
Alright ... enough of the boring details. On to some pictures. Enjoy!
