I've decided to start this thread because while these tanks seem pretty popular and I have notice quiet a few others getting them second hand or even new. When making my build thread and commenting on others, there were some comments about making us a club. This is that club. Much of this is taken from an older post on another forum, but that forum isn't too active these days.
Pros of the Tank:
Cons of the Tank:
The Bottom Line:
If you like long tanks and the simplicity of an AIO, this tank is for you. If you're more of a cube guy/gal, do yourself a favor and get a Red Sea Reefer or IM 40.
Additional Equipment Needed:
Commonly Used Equipment:
Lighting
Pros of the Tank:
- 30 Gallon Capacity Allows for Heavier Stocking and a Somewhat (Though Not Much) Larger Margin of Error for Beginners (When compared to the Nuvo 20 or other nanos)
- Long Footprint Allows for End-to-End Viewing
- Shallow Enough that It Could Be Used for a Lagoon
- No Plumbing to Worry About
- It's a Nano!
- Modern Rimmless Design
Cons of the Tank:
- No Sump, so Equipment is a Squeeze
- Price- Many Will Opt for a 40 Breeder With Sump
- Stock Pump is Noisy
- Stock Filer Socks are Crap
- Not Ideal for Small Spaces
- High Evaporation Rate
- Low Default Water Level Means It Holds Less Than 30 Gallons
The Bottom Line:
If you like long tanks and the simplicity of an AIO, this tank is for you. If you're more of a cube guy/gal, do yourself a favor and get a Red Sea Reefer or IM 40.
