Hello,
this will be my first nano tank on top of my 65 gallon. The tank is not setup yet but I have pretty big plans for it. The purpose is too keep smaller fish and things I cant keep in my 65 gallon due to my evil wrasse. Recommendations will be taken. This will be my third fish tank at 14 years old. Currently have a 45 planted fresh and 65 reef. This is on the bottom of my plans list however because I'm facing problems like high nitrates and algae in my 65. I need to buy a IceCap i50, new power heads, and a Kessil A160 repair due to water splash :( and a white tail tang all for my 65 still. So I will have to push this tank back a little (mainly budgeting issues guess I'll have to get a job). Expected setup is June-August. Excited!
Equipment list:
Kessil A80 (Still need to get the money for it)
Sicce heater
IM cleaner magnet
My AIO of course
Thats about it.
Stocking plans:
Two blueface pipefish
tailspot blenny or starry goby (willing to improvise looking for UNIQUE fish to put in here)
Inverts:
1x shrimp fire or skunk or none due to size
decorator crab
chitons
possibly a sea star of some sort?
Scarlet Hermits, emeralds, astrea, and turbos.
Not your average CUC I guess. Not all will be added but shrimps, decorator crab and sea star are indefinite if I can do them. I would like recommendations on stocking for inverts, coral and fish please share!
Coral plans:
Plate corals
hammers
toadstool?
torches
Some others

My IM-15 has been running since November 2022. Due to small water volume I find myself helping the tank more often, swap filer media based on water clarity, run some GFO if algae gets going too much and such. I do run bio-reactor but with ceramic bio-media not bio-pellets to supercharger my good bacteria. I run same media in my overflow basket, and just add floss or polishing pad when needed. I also run a skimmer, with water changes I rarely ever get skim. I change 5 gallons a week - 33% - so no dosing. I do feed my corals, Red Sea AB+, and some frozen.

I have pair of clowns, small tang, lawnmower blennie, scooter blennie, Ranford gobie, yellow line wrasse, lots of cleanup crews. Lots of Coral, mainly zoas and mushrooms with some sps and sandbed items for fun. I have added racks and am collecting frags for my 30 tall I hope to have up and running within 2 weeks.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.

@cdemoss01 I have a Kessil 160 over my 22 gallon and love it. Only two variables to contend with: color and intensity. As opposed to a dozen colors that have no effect in growing corals. Subscribed to your build thread here!!!
