The brown stuff sorryWhat are we trying to ID
ohhhhhAppears to be diatoms if you’re talking about the sandbed
ummm, idk, im at school, but did a 50% wc the other day(had to clean sand) that was on wednesday, all corals are fine tho, including tenuis, but diatoms appeared that nightWhat are your parameters?
vacuumingAlso how are you cleaning your sandbed in your tank?
ok, ill do that, but that was also taken at 10pm... when I turn flow off, and when the lights shut off and everything closes up for the night, during the. day they fully open and do thriveWhen you get home test the params. And that tank doesn’t look “fine” . Corals are surviving, not thriving from what I can see. By stirring up the sand you probably exposed sand that hadn’t finished releasing silicates, hence the diatoms. Just hope it isn’t a variety of dinos.
Never turn the flow off. Does the sea go to bed for the night?ok, ill do that, but that was also taken at 10pm... when I turn flow off, and when the lights shut off and everything closes up for the night, during the. day they fully open and do thrive
okNever turn the flow off. Does the sea go to bed for the night?
If it’s just diatoms they’ll eventually go away on their own as they consume to silicates.ok
is that the cause of these diatoms?
what could I also do to help fix?
pAre there copepods?
