As many may know, ICP-analysis has shut down their ICP testing facility and removes an option for testing parameters.
Who is using other methods such as Triton and what experiences have you had with the Lab you are using?

What Lab do you use?
Additionally, how often do you send a water sample in for analysis?

ATI, the ICP vendor in Germany, has shut down? Source or are you mixing vendors up.

I have used ATI, Reef Labs, Oceamo & ICP-Analysis.

ATI I have used for years and they seem to be pretty reliable.

Reef Labs was OK I guess, only used them once. I was hoping to use them more because they are local to me (they are in Tampa and I am about a hour north drive). I was hoping to get my reading back in a couple days but it took over a week. They do state though that they may not read your sample for 72 hours but over a week to wait for a reading when ATI is just a couple days more and Reef Labs gets my sample overnight....

ICP-Analysis - garbage but going out of business

Oceamo is my go to now. My biggest gripe is Moonshiners distribution here in the United States. Moonshiners is helping Oceamo business sure but they are also hurting it. Moonshiners charges a flat $17 fee to ship a ICP test to you which would cost no more than a couple bucks to ship if they didn't ship it in the stupid UPS box they send it in. It literally cost $82 for 1 ICP test with Oceamo. I have no problem paying $65 for a MS test but the shipping fee with Moonshiners is stupid. Its actually the reason I refuse to buy other Moonshiners products because of their shipping practices on ICP tests, and I am starting to dose ions separately like the moonshiners method.

I don't use Triton but a close friend does and they are good as well.

I will say this overall:
If you are not monitoring and adjusting for trace elements then ATI or Triton would be your go to - These are ICP-OES services and they struggle to read lower resolutions in the PPB range which trace elements are. If you are just concerned about major and minor elements this is the go to.

if you are monitoring trace elements the only real option at this point that I am aware of is Oceamo. I am not aware of any other reputable ICP-MS companies that can read resolutions well in the BBP range. I just hope they fix the shipping cost issue because it maddens me every time I order an ICP test. Now I am just trying to buy multiple tests at once so I dont get as angry at shipping.

Problem I have is Im sitting on 7 kits from ICP that are of no use and money now wasted.

For others, best options may be Triton (which ive used in the past) and ATI
Anyone else using Oceamo?

I just received my ATI results Friday morning, exactly 1 week from shipping my sample. I was very impressed and plan on using them again.

This is more or less what I see. Take it to the post office on Monday morning before noon and will get an email from ATI the following Monday to say that they received the sample. Usually I get results the following day. Sometimes they take the two days noted in the email. 7 days to get there 8 or 9 for results. Northern California here.

Earlier in the year I recall ATI changing the address of the collection location. There was a bit of a delay there as the US postal service had to do mail forwarding to the new address. ATI also would give the hobbyist a new label if needed. My most recent ICP kit from them contained the new address so probably not part of the issue.

If anyone hasn't received notification of it being received from ATI I would reach out to them.

No, they are still up and running.

That is great that they got back running so quick. I assumed it would be a couple weeks.

Edit after looking at website they are still requesting no samples to be sent.

Edit again after receiving this email from them.

Don’t use them and never will,I know of a couple of people here in uk that sent same samples of water and had 2 totally different results back, just a personal opinion but think your better with a coral that reacts to swings than a water sample from 2 weeks prior to something wrong going off in tank

They are free to charge whatever they wish and generate whatever margin they wish. That said, the price is already expensive and the shipping cost puts it out of range for what I am willing to spend for what I get in return.

Triton bother's me in the sense that they try extremely hard to convey information in an obfuscated way to prevent it from being used with 3rd party products, analysis or logic. "use or test, we will tell you which of our products to use and how much, we won't tell you concentrations, what's actually in the bottles or how the results compare to other methods, just trust us and buy are products". I am not a fan of the black box approach. Other people may be.

Of course the whole uncertainly of results be it ICP-EOS vs ICP-MS.

Same. I sent two rodi samples from the same container of water and got totally different results. That was my first and last icp. I didn't even bother looking at the tank water results once I saw the botched RODI results

Did you contact Oceamo to let them know this happened? The owner is also active on these forums and is very transparent with their testing process.
