This is my second year as a hobbyist

In year 1, I noticed the availability of nicer acantho, Indophyllia, and cynarina during Q4.

Curious if it was a mere coincidence or there is a dynamic in the industry you can help me understand if it exists.

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I should save my money and wait for nicer pieces in Q4.

Its a good question and will be interesting to hear the replies.

Personally I think it falls in line with Christmas, people spend money in Q4..... Black Friday and boxing days sales, gift cards for Christmas, etc.....

It may be dependent on seasonal wild coral harvests. The countries of export may have certain times of the year that they are allowed to harvest coral from the ocean. Larger lps coral are typically wild caught because of the length of time it takes for them to grow.

+1 on seasonal offerings changing (or at least percentage allowances) having some impact due to export/harvest allowances.

Those pesky quota's and allowances may play a role in coral distribution from the collection points?
