My tank is still cycling, it still has high NO3. Is it safe to add the Dragon's Breath now or should I wait until the NO3 goes down.

2nd question

I have some F2 fertilizer that is used for Phytoplankton. Can I use the same fertilizer for the Dragon's Breath?

High NO3 never bothered my macro but fertilizers depending on the N : P ratio may not be advised to dose into a reef tank. Much better to have high nitrates than phosphates.

In a mixed reef with display macros I keep nitrates above 10 (currently 30) and phosphates are at 0.18 but declining.

I actually dosed phyto into my tank that had unconsumed f/2 fertilizer which caused a green hair algae bloom due to the spike.

Thank you so much. I had it in the bag in the tank to acclimate. How do you recommend me planting this in my sump? As this grows a frag will be placed in a special feeding chamber in the display tank.

If you look at the top of the sump insert you can see an isolation tank. I'm planning on putting a frag in there and let it grow out the holes. Then the fish can nibble on the over growth without killing the plant all together.

Float the dr
Ok co thanks so much. I have a few rocks I can attach it to.
Float the dragons breath to get used to temp just like a fish/invert then add into your fuge. They like moderate light and flow so run a powerhead to keep it tumbling. My dragons breath has grown substantially in 2 months under the Kessil H80 with the ‘bloom’ mode. Nitrates are 2 and phosphates are .023 in my frag tank I have it in. Attached pic is right after I added it. Looks much bigger now
