I have an aqua clear HOB filter, will I still need a powerhead to create more flow?

Hello, I bought an aqua clear filter for freshwater but never used it. I think it's Aqua Clear 50. The website says it creates flow in the water. Would I need a powerhead still or the flow created from the filter would be enough? I have a 20-gallon tank. I only plan on keeping two clownfish

The flow in a freshwater tank is different than salt. The aqua clear will have good surface agitation and break the water tension but you will want deeper flow through out the tank. It won't take a big power head in a twenty.

Agreed, doesn’t have to be expensive there are plenty of budget powerheads on Amazon that you can get. Some as low as $16.

I would even add 2 powerheads, I have 2 on my 15 gallon. The hob is just a trickle of water on the surface. In saltwater, flow means pushing water from one side of the tank over to the other side, this is only done with powerheads. Flow is very important in a salt tank.

100% you will need a wave maker/power head.
there are some cheaper one out there. I often use the jebao ones, I like them but they to break after a year or two... some time longer sometimes sooner.
