I work at a LFS and I was pulling algae out of the 350g clown display, unaware that anemones could sting humans. I handle the small BTAs every day without a problem so I figured it didn’t effect people. I thought it was just the salt irritating my left arm because it’s not as conditioned to it as my right arm, so I left it there and continued to grab more algae for about another minute and then it really started to hurt. Thanks for reading, just thought I’d share this milestone lol.

That is interesting! Well, you've got an experience most don't have! But you need to embellish the story a bit. Add in a Man 'o War to give it an extra punch!

Wowzer - that looks like a blown up surgical glove joke. Hope it resolves quickly. I'm gonna be a little more cautious around my fox

If you have been handling anemones for a protracted period of time without incident you may becoming sensitive to them. This happens frequently in the trade. If it continues, try wearing a glove that goes up your arm.

Stay well
Good to know, thanks!!

Good info. I didn't know bubble tips sting humans but I've only touched them with my hands which are pretty calloused.
I didn’t either honestly, that’s why I figured it was the salt at first. I touch the small ones that we sell every day with my hands and haven’t had any issues so I was very surprised.

Update: the pain is gone the day afterwards but the blistering looks nasty as hell lol

Can’t get a very detailed pic but here’s my attempt at one
