I started to dose for the corals, and I don't think it's my imagination that my frogspawn and hammers appear to open up larger than ever - whether this is a coincidence, or even my imagination, I don't know :).

Here's a bad observation that came along with it: green film algae all over my glass! I tested Nitrates and Phosphates and the values were: 5.7 and 0.03ppm, so that's in check.

Could dosing Amino Acids cause this algae outbreak? I have stopped dosing - I was dosing 1x every 2 days as per Aquaforest instructions. I wonder if others have experienced the same?

Yes, amino acids do cause up growth algae. I like to feed amino acid right after lights out and that usually helps with algae growth from dosing

dang! Ok, I thought so...there's no way this was a coincidence was my thought. What the quickest way to get rid of this type of green algae? I actually never had this type before in such that it's covered the entire glass panes. I had bubble and GHA before, but I"m assuming this is an easier type of algae to contend with.

I just scrape it off my glass with a razor blade, if it’s on the rocks or back wall I just try to let my CUC take care of it :)

I thought that doing so will just move the algae around and it'll just land and set foot somewhere else>

I wonder if anyone else has observed that they seemed to have introduced a new strain of algae after using this product?

It might be interesting to try and replicate these results. :thinking-face:

Sorry, coffee just kicked in, typed more than i planned. :)
The Same things that make liquid aminos help corals grow faster, apply to everything else in the tank that can absorb nutrients.. including algae..which can utilize garbage that corals cant to grow.. and now you are giving them the good stuff? Mmmm ..enjoy fellas. : ) ( those reasons are: they are broken down liquid form of protiens builders that can be easily and rapidly absorbed and immedietly utilized for growth.)
I don't know what all aminos corals in general or different corals need for tissue growth etc.. or if anemones can absorb some out of the water, maybe someone on here does.. but you would think the best products would get, have and state that data to bolster that their product contains those.
Disclaimer: I'm not quoting scientific literature here.. just generalizing. ..
In humans, we can use some individual aminos for different things, but we need all 16 bcaa's to facilitate muscle growth.. thus the term 'A Complete Protien', where something has all of them in it. (milk & meat). ..a vegan bodybuilder would have to mix and match food souces to get all 16 branch chain aminos in their diet. Although, oddly enough pea protien is very popular right now. (And yes, I felt a confirmation emoji was necessary)..lol
-happy reefing!
