Wondering of anyone is aware of what kind of head hight you can get from the x10 dose pumps. Thinking of using for daily auto waterchanges from my basment.

That might be pushing its capability. While possible, it's not the best pump suited for the job. The tubing diameter is pretty small, so overall volume would be limited. I personally use 2x SOLE pumps myself for doing AWC for a tank in my livingroom from a basement mix tank.

Original thought of the soles first because of volume and really no head hight limitations. Just had the idea that the x10 would do my water change plus possibly ATO and maybe kallk or allreef all in one unit for around the same price point. But if can't get enough volume sounds like sole is the best way to go.

Using an X10 dosing pump for a water change would be slow city, and I think it would fail because that is not what it is meant to do, it is more for dosing chemicals in very small volume, for not spending a lot of money I would go with an ATO.

I use 2 Minnow pumps for AWC but my tank is only a 42 gallon tank and I have the water change split into 4 times a day. Right now each pump runs about 15 minutes each time. The change amount is set to 4000ml a day at this time. Since the are smart dosers I use a dosing schedule and have an output setup to halt the ATO during the water change. All three pumps for AWC and ATO are in my garage 35ft from the tank. I use 1/4" tubing from tank to pumps that go through my attic in insulated PVC conduit.

My thought is 10% s day so on a 150 like a gallon and a half a day.

That would be a lot for the Minnow pumps since the highest flow rate is 55ml a minute. The Sole is probably the best bet since they can run up to 300ml a minute. I am doing just a little over 1 gallon a day but most of the time I have it set at around 3/4 a gallon but my nitrate was rising so I increase the water change amount up some.

Picked up a used Stenner dual head peristaltic pump for just this application. Might be an option if you don’t have to run it through the hydros system.
If you can set the pump to run when powered the Hydros can control it. Not sure what type of power is required but there are 12v drive ports and with a Kraken you get 24v force ports plus there are the 120 outlets on the Launch or XP8 you can use.

That’s a good point. Could daisy chain an XP8 to the basement and control off that.

My guess is the command bus would need to be a data only type. If it is over 14ft you need to use a data only cable but a XP8 has a built in supply so power is not needed for it anyway. I have one in my system that is over 35ft and have several controller in each location.

The dosers say ther rated for 100ml a min. Which should be like 1.5 gallons an hour. I think.
Yes, but the X10 dosing pumps are not continuous use pumps the Minnow and Sole are rated for continuous use. So they can run for a longer period without overheating.
