I have a full Apex system and am waiting on Trident NP. However..this is very impressive.

I thought this product line was supposed to be more affordable than the Apex line? It seems they are about the same price now.

I went HYDROS when I set up my 125 and then moved to Apex. Now I am so deep in Mobius/Ecotech and Apex (Same company, I know) that it would be hard for me to go back.

How is HYDROS going to combat the Apex ecosystem and make it easier for people to transition over? I would love to give HYDROS another try but then I'm investing more money moving everything over.

No, the Maven will be released at the end of the year, assuming there are no delays.

If you need to buy something now, you'll have to use the Apex system. So the minimum startup cost would be an Apex Jr (300) + Trident (650) + Trident NP (650) + Reagents (110) = $1700

Or, if you can wait, the Maven startup cost will be 1200 + Reagents (price not announced yet).

With Neptune you have a mini ala cart. Pick which group you want to test. If you want all 5 then of course your math is correct.

Hydros had a clean slate to work with. Neptune had an existing installation base to work around. Maybe down the road they will launch a combined unit but for now those in that ecosystem can choose. Both have valid use cases.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this can do in the wild! I'm planning a new build after being out of the hobby for 9 years so this is very interesting to me.

Big price but i think it’s going to be a great product for those who get it. Other folks I know using their products are really liking them and so have I even with some of their simpler products.

I think about the amount I have invested so far in this build, and once the tank is mature with colonies I love, that amount doesn’t hurt as bad.

Especially if I intend on fragging and selling to recoup some money if successful.
