Been battling these for a year but I'm afraid I'm at my wits end. Kalk and peroxide just knock it back so I'm thinking I can try and figure out a natural predator. First I'm hoping someone on here can proper identify these, at least get where they might be found. They look like little brown star polyps when I looked at them magnified. I really don't want to tear down the tank since this might be my best tank I ever started and they don't seem to sting anything just cover any bare spots in the rockwork. (brown covering the rockwork in the pic). Any help will be appreciated.

Reminds me of blue clove polyps but smaller and brown...can you scrub them off with a toothbrush if you try hard enough?

Or do you have to scrape them with a razor?
