Never ran the red sea. Did run 2 16hd on a 18" cube and 4 on my 24×36×12 frag system.
These were the leds that got me off halides.

Nice, looks great! How do you like the mounts? I see a lot of bad reviews for the mounts for the hydras, which is what has me leaning towards red sea led

I like the bendable stick mounts. I do not like the metal ones. If you look at them they move.
When I had these systems I was running 4 on the frag with one in the sump and 2 on a 30 remote off my 120 plus the 20, so 9 of them.
I switched to radions now.
The only issue I had with the 16's was I had to replace the lens on a few as the uv leds melted the lens.
I will be setting up your same tank for a frag system soon.
I currently have an IM 170 ext im setting up. They are great tanks for the $.
