OK guys, this is pretty cool news! In fact it's awesome news, and I'm really excited about this one!

It's been a number of months in the making and the word has gotten out a little bit the last couple months, as I have worked with some you guys already.

Today is the day we make it official!

I will now be handling sales of Deltec products through the Battlecorals website. That includes skimmers, reactors and parts! From now on, if you want a Deltec at the heart of your reef, you call me.

Now for the spiel...

I have made no secret of my devotion to Deltec products over the years, and most of you that know me, are well aware of my nerdy fascination with the skimmers in particular. I can’t really even explain it as my feelings are pretty mundane across the board for most of the “gear” side of the hobby. I am a tinkerer, just as much as anyone and I love my “techie” gadgets and gizmos as well, but there is something about the Deltec skimmers that I have been drawn too since my first introduction around the turn of the millennium.

Maybe it was simply in the name at first. Deltec had a ring to it that really appealed to me. It just sounded cool and intriguing. Perhaps it was the sleek design of the early models that pulled me in. Or maybe it was simply the fact that at the time, Deltec was considered the best, and had pioneered modern advances in fractionation, that would influence practically all modern skimming methods as we know today. Deltecs' innovative needle wheel design caught on, winning over longtime users of lime wood and down drafts. The needle wheel’s superior performance, was more consistent and much more efficient.

Now there’s a legion of new reefers out there that have never heard the name Deltec, and it’s certain that in the last decade, there have been a tremendous amount of new companies making quality skimmers that perform near the level of Deltec. For me, however, there is no comparison at all. Between unmatched performance and their gorgeous aesthetics, my fanatical devotion has not wavered even slightly. Those of you that currently use, or have in the past used these skimmers, know exactly what I mean. For all those future owners, you will soon know the satisfaction of owning a Deltec.

The only problem Deltec has had in recent years, here in the US, besides very limited availability, has been little to no customer support. These are great products, but they are not immune to wear and tear, and the rare but occasional defect. With the return of Deltec's legendary customer service in the U.S., together we are ushering out a lost decade, and reintroducing Deltec to a whole new class of reefers, and finally getting properly reacquainted with all our old friends.

Today, I'm here to reassure you that all the of the same, down to earth efforts and principles that drive Battlecorals, will be garnered for Deltec now as well. If you have any problems at all, or need support, or maybe you just want to chat about skimmers a little. From now on, I will be the person on the other end of the phone, and I look forward to getting to know even more of you, and providing you with the finest skimmers ever made!

So, if you are looking to upgrade, or setting up a new system and need a little direction. I'll repeat what I've been telling my own customers for years now. "Just get a Deltec!"

A click on my visage above will take you straight to the site. Now complete with a full line of Deltec products! You got any questions at all, don't hesitate to give me a call.

Awesome move. Deltec products are rock solid. Had one on a previous tank and never had any issues with it.

Hmmm....Been looking at the SC1455 for my 180 mixed reef. Might be time for that upgrade soon.

The 1455 is a little beast! I run one on my 300 gallon back up system.

Would have some of wiggle room on a 180 even but it's still a great fit on a system that size.

Shoot me a pm if you'd like some details.

Right on man I had a 701 long ago, and still have a 902. One of the greatest skimmers ever made! Retired though:) To answer you question, There is an internal and external version of just about every model, but the little guys.

The externals are the "TC" line meaning twin chamber, and the internals are the "SC" meaning single.

One huge difference in the new line, and from most other commercially available skimmers, is they don't recirculate anymore like the old models. The new pumps effectively produce so much air, that there simply wasn't any need to do it. This greatly reduced the need for smaller external models.

The internals are so easy to set up and use, that I think unless you have no option to go with an internal, then they are the best choice by far. Especially if you don't need a larger size.

I was pretty skeptical of the idea that such a small skimmer by comparison to the monsters of old line, could outperform them. I mean those massive tubes of bubblels vs that small reaction chamber. But seeing is believing, and once I had a couple of them running myself, any doubt I had vanished.

I plan to detail all features of the TC and SC lines here and on my site soon.

I've heard so many good things about Deltec skimmers but never knew how to buy one in the US. This is very good news.
