I'm willing to bet the red O-ring gasket is missing. I do believe they sell these separately. It adds enough frictional resistance that the cover will stay on.

The impeller cages twist lock onto the base of the wetside. It's kind of easy to break those locking tabs when you take them apart to clean them.

Both of my wet sides are over 4 years old and the cages started flying of years back. I still have the o-ring but I suspect it is much too compressed to be very effective anymore.
Anyways I found if you use something like a rag to help get a good tight twist, it won't come off anymore. I use a rag or a paper towel and haven't had another problem for years

Is the OP saying the impeller and magnet are "falling off" the base?

I thought it was just the cage.

i jsut checked and the o-ring is still there but the cage still fly out

How old it the wetside? Are you sure you are twisting and locking the cage in place? Remove the gasket and twist and lock the cage so you can see and feel the "lock." My hunch is that the gasket is so snug you haven't been twisting and locking in place. The "lock" is the same direction of the impeller twisting, and can't see how it would fall off if it was locked in place.

Sometimes you have to twist fairly hard to get the cage to lock in.

Keep in mind that it locks in COUNTER CLOCK WISE.

We haven't hear back from the OP, but that is my guess as well....the gasket is not allowing a good final twist to lock the cage in....too tight. Here's the "lock" that we're talking about....three of these around the base of the MP.

I didn't mention this earlier, but as you can see from the picture, I don't even use the red gaskets because it makes it too difficult to open them up to clean. I do leave them on the MP10's, but not on the MP40's. And the only time one has fallen off is when I didn't give it that final little twist to lock it in.
