Hi all.
I am trying to prepare a freshwater dip for my seahorses and can't find a "recipe" for how to raise the pH in the rodi water, using bicarbonate soda.
Could you please tell me how to do this?
How long after you have added and mixed the bicarb to the water should the levels test correctly?
Thank you so much. Dee

To be honest, I just use dechlorinated tap water for dips. I can draw it from the tap at the correct temperature, and in my region, the water is well buffered and has a pH of 8.2

Is there a reason to think pH should be at any particular level in a dip?

That said, if you do want a particular level and you are measuring it, it is ready to measure as soon as it dissolves. A tiny bit is all you need.
