I came across this picture of an aquarium in Korea and was wondering how the owner got his rockwork like this. I tried to google it but found nothing. Just wanting to hear your thoughts on how to do an aquascape like this. Thanks

When I build aquascapes I usually use dry rock and glue the pieces together with hot glue.
Just search around for some branchy looking pieces like that, and glue them together however you'd like!

If you look close you can see this guy used zip ties, not "natural" enough for me so I personally don't use them, there is a special type of reef epoxy

I'm pretty sure this is the same tank.
Personally I would not use zip ties in the beginning. But if this was the outcome......bring on the zip ties.

Yes, that's the same tank. It's from Korea. And I agree, if that's the outcome I'd do anything it took :)

1. U need ur base rocks. If u have a band saw to make the bottom side flat perfect!
2. The base has to be heavy. So stack them up solid. It's all a counter weight game. Remember corals will get big and heavy. U don't want to wake up one
morning and the whole thing fell on its side and made u lots of accidental frags...
3. Take all ur branching live rock and zip tie them together to make it the way u want. Don't worry it's not permanent!
4. Once u have it the way u want take reef epoxy mix it and start mashing it into the seems where two different rocks meet.
If u want to play it even safer, use a hot glue gun first once dry then put the epoxy over it. U can get them already purple so it looks like coraline algae.
5. CUT OFF ALL THE ZIP TIES!!!!
6. check it really well and see if there are any weak spots u want to reinforce with more epoxy... .
7.done fill the tank place corals all over and enjoy...

Really? I just picked up a hundred or so pounds a couple months ago. Pretty sure I could swoop a bunch right now as well.

Go to ur local fish store and tell them u want branching rock they can custom order that stuff from the whole sellers.
That's what I did. I had a custom shelf rock it's 2ft left to right 15 inches front to back and about 3 inches thick. That was for my 300 back in the day.
from what they told me u can custom order rock like that.
I didn't tell them that's how big I wanted but that's what came in and it worked.
The only problem with that is the custom stuff like that is it cost more bc( this is what they told me) it if flown over here so u have to pay for freight as to we're most live rock comes in from ships that floated over here...
