I’ve just gotten a 24k leptoseris and it looks far more like this picture:

A brownish coral with weak yellow fluorescence, than this one:

This pic is from tidal gardens, but I know other reefers here can get the bright yellow color too, like in these pictures posted in other threads on reef2reef:

How did y’all bring out the color on this coral?

Lights (par & photoperiod)
Nutrients
Some flow,

And time for the coral (any coral) to acclimate to its environment and the response after 6 months in place can tell you if it needs changes once you have observed it in your tank and seen the corals response.

The “ secret” is to wait and watch and adjust one parameter at a time and document the results of the change.

Eventually, how to get what you want will be obvious. The other thing is,… that sometimes coral in your care will not comply no matter what you want, and that is the reason why people who keep coral learn what they can keep and what will not work for them.

Some people (few) have wide range success but if they do I suspect that they have many systems that have a range of different situations to accommodate the diversity of needs that coral has to thrive in?

I am always amazed when people post that they can grow various sps but they kill gsp every time they try.

The coral requirements are multiple and the systems are narrow.

Your pic looks like it's stressed out............they like low light. It should be at or near the bottom of the aquarium. I'm kinda shocked that it's not a pure bright yellow color. This is probably one of the easiest and fastest growing corals.

Did you see the coral in person when you bought it? It's possible the picture was jacked up and what you bought was just a dull colored lepto.
