50 gallons = 190 liters ...round that to 200 liters. So, for 1000ml for every 400L, you'll need 500ml of Life Bio Fil. I just use a 1000ml beaker or Pyrex measuring cup. You cannot really overdo this as it's just like having rock (more surface area), etc. It's just pre-seeded with bacteria. You can add much more gradually, just not all at once.

I have a total system volume of 54 gallons and I run 3 times this much. I change out a third of it every 2 months or so. I do this as I started with dry rock and very little of it. I run this for more surface area for bacteria.

This product is so incredibly unuseful in display tank reefing.

it can be handy in quarantines

in low surface area setups

a reef display is never low surface area even if it's bare bottom and a negative aquascape. this is about to be a wasted purchase. it's not giving you anything thats beneficial

it would be a benefit if you were lacking surface area in a display, but you can't be. a car needs one steering wheel, having 4 doesn't make a better car/same

your fish aren't better protected with vs without this product/factor that into purchases

why don't people use fully packed bioball filter setups in reefing? same reason this media is a waste of $

bottle bac sellers and retailers are hand in hand in exploiting the reefing public's carryover assumption from freshwater world that more surface area is better, safer, it's not. you can't measure any impacts in ammonia control using or removing this media all at once from any display: this bundle with beneficial bacteria is a sales ploy raking in millions

don't pay to use this in a reef display, it's making another man's vette payments for him vs keeping your cash for food, coral frags, or actual live rock if you want surface area.

it's legit for quarantine, hospital or emergency holding setups. anything that's low surface area
