I went to an aquarium store in the corner of the street and it had some bargain prices. 3 medium-sized corals had a cheap price. So I bought it, one of them is a montipora and I think it is a Montipora Spongodes. Never really had one of these, what type of monti are they? encrusting? plating? I NEED INFO IN PLACEMENT! I know flow and light req should be same.

You can place this reef weed basically anywhere where there is light, flow and rock.
It likes dirty tanks (high nutrients) for best color.

The spongodes has all three growth habits, it will encrust, plate and branch. Like mentioned above, it will pretty much grow anywhere. Where ever you do place it make sure it is somewhere you can easily get to go trim as it grows quite fast.

Like mentioned it will grow fast. I've got the best color out of outs with little nutrients, lots of light and flow. My first SPS many years ago and still going strong. I just break pieces off when it gets to big and give them to LFS in the area.

Thats also a branch in the bottom left corner that turned into a small colony about the size of a soup bowl before i sold it. I currently only have a couple small colonies 4-5 in The main colony had to be broken into 3 pieces to fit in a 5 gal bucket. Sold at lfs
