So i want a eel and by looks of it will be the only thing in the tank so how do i introduce such a big bioload to a new tank so i wont get a ammonia spike?

i will have

Skimmer
Clarisea

i mean isnt adding a eel the equivalent of fully stocking a brand new just cycled tank lol maybe even worse

Is the eel the only thing you are adding?
@littlefoxx has experience with eels and would be able to help you!

Is your tank fully cycled? And what kind of eel?

You can always “over power” any funk via dilution….

In other words, I see no reason you couldnt do enough water changes before the ammonia catches up

PITA to be sure, but a bucket of instant ocean is cheaper than the eel Id wager
I thought Seachems Prime removes ammonia LOL ;)
(just joking)

don't have the tank yet just asking getting next year some time but the tank WILL be fully cycled and most likely banana eel as can't get golden dwarfs with the ban

In my experience eels tend to be very hardy. You should be fine, just make sure your tank is fully cycled before adding it! If the bioload makes you nervous wait a little after fully cycled but you should be fine, especially if the eel is the only fish.

cheers i don't want it too be my only fish but what can you add with it (i would not add them at the same time would let the tank get use to the bioload first)

Its a fang tooth eel so it will eat any fish it can fit in its mouth. In a 75 youre limited with the kinds of fish. A dwarf angel and a pair of clownfish (I keep maroons with my 4 eels since maroons are more aggressive and bigger) would pretty much be it. Any perching fish it will probably eat. No shrimps either. A cleaner wrasse would also be good since it has a symbiotic relationship with all fish but thats about it stock wise in a 75 with the eel’s bioload
