I bought a live rock from lfs which I usually refrain from due to unwanted pests, but it was a cool rock. While It was in quarantine this hitch hiker snail came crawling out. Ive spent about as long as I want to on google trying to determine the ID of this guy. I believe it to be a Nerite snail. Would I be correct?

Thanks

how big is it? collanista snails are generally VERY small. i actually found about 2-3 in my tank during a "night watch". thought i actually had baby turbo snails...

judging by the envelope, this could quite possibly be a turbo snail of some kind?

My turbo snails run circles around this guy. Had him for about 6 month now. Wasn’t until I ran into an green hair algae bloom that I started wondering what he was. Grabbed 2 turbo snails and they munch like crazy on the hair algae. This one not near the appetite.

See below post for more pictures
Now I'm not sure. It still resembles a nerite, but my nerites have more spherical shells rather than the curled pyramid shape this one seems to have, particularly looking at the offset in shell roundness in the last picture.

It seems a bit more like a turbo snail to me now.

ok it’s lack of “turbo” was throwing me towards Nerite. Was there a specific species of turbo you think? Here is a pic of the 2 turbo snails I recently grabbed that seemed to be attached to each other at the moment. They make laps around my tank grazing like crazy.

Sorry to jump on and hijack the thread. I picked up some snails and I think they turbo snails. Just wanted any other input.
Thanks again
