I noticed a pile of shells in the front of my four month old tank. I started with live rock. In the middle of the pile I found this urchin. It doesn't look like a black rock boring or collector tuxedo urchin. Any ideas?

Probably a type of urchin commonly called a "purple urchin" or purple pincushion/short-spine urchin.
Where did the live rock originate? The purple urchins are quite invasive in some areas.
Agree. Man your on top of it today
