I don’t know if the probe is right but about 10 days ago it was 8.05 so I ran an airline outside from the skimmer and installed a fan to suck in fresh air from behind the curtain also opened the door fully in hope to raise it , 3 days later it was 8.4 ish , so I removed the airline and shut of the fan to bring it down but it went up to 8.5-6 on Saturday
Yesterday reads 8.74 as you see

I’m hoping the probes faulty but don’t have any calibration fluid to hand or a car to go pick some up so was wondering what I have in the house I can use for reference ?

I really don’t think the probe is right. My experience with fresh air is it helps some but does not have a big impact, certainly not drastic like you are seeing.

I also think pH 8.74 is likely inaccurate, but simple aeration will bring it down if accurate.

Simple aeration ? I’m trying to lower it incase itx right

At that high pH, CO2 in the ambient air would bring it down…if it was real.

I mean the ocean is constantly producing o2 , no co2 to lower it

pH 8.7 is possible, but only if aeration is on the poor end.

I'm gonna go with inaccurate readings from the pH probe. Have you tried getting a reading from a fresh batch of newly mixed 35ppt saltwater?

I have some I’ll try shortly but it’s had kh boosted to 10

Tsp water doesn’t tell much. Mine is over pH 9. It is often raised to reduce lead and copper release from pipes.
