Helping setting up wifi on my new ApexEL?!?!

Let me start by saying I am a computer programmer for a living; and yet, I still cannot figure out why my unit will not connect to the internet. I'm hoping someone else has had similiar experience, and knows the issue. Either that or I have a faulty unit :-(.

I've followed their steps.
1) Connect the power supply to the apex unit (the light is blue)
2) Connect to Apex's wifi and go to htttp://apex.local
3) Connect my wifi settings, and the popup modal displays that its waiting for the apex to connect...
4) After about 5 seconds the lights on the apex start to blink and finally go to solid orange.
5) So I open a new tab and go to http://apex.local and try to login with the default settings...

username: admin
password: 1234

And I get this error message EVERY time.

Timeout...Unable to contact the server; please check your network connection.

I'm currently trying to setup with a windows pc

After the apex goes solid orange you are reconnecting back to your homes wifi correct?

Yep...it's actually reconnecting on its own. But yea I am.

I had to bounce my EL after configuring wifi to get it to connect.

If you use an IP finder. After your apex has connected to your wifi, use the ip finder to locate your apex, and type its web address in the bar. If I'm not mistaken it's usually http://172.16.0.1/

Finally got it to work using the android instructions. It did seem to be changing the IP address. Thanks all! Now I can play around with my new toy

I just got mine a few days ago as well Loving it so far. Glad you got it connected
