Had PT in about 3 weeks. He’s been doing fine but yesterday when doing a water change he lost some colouration and got stressed. Today he was fine and back darting around and eating but this evening he seems lethargic and has developed these spots. Any thoughts?

Water parameters are good and stable. He’s still eating etc. just concerned

Ich is a progressive disease. The spots will go away and then come back getting worse each time. All fish in the tank are infected now. Feeding high quality food and vitamins soaked in garlic may help boost their immune systems to fend off the ich but ideally all fish should be medically treated in QT while tank sits fallow. If it were me, I would just keep trying to keep the fish well fed and add supplements like vitachem and see how things progress over the coming weeks.

Amazing, sorry as I’ve only been doing this a year and first time I’ve had any issues!!!

Am I right in reading Ich is a bit more forgiving than velvet?

If I have time I can always set up a separate QT tank???

I will go to the fish store tomorrow and see if I can get some bits.

Really appreciate your help. Thank you!!!
