I have set up a new tank (reefer 250). When I’m running my Nyos 120 it causes a lot of micro bubbles in my tank. Do I have it set up wrong? I bought it used so don’t have anything on it for setting up.

How deep do you have it? It should be between 8-9 inches. You also have two controls, the water intake can be turned to increase or decrease water level and the dial on top (says open close) is a micro adjustment.

It could. I did not have a break in period with mine. It looks like it is producing a lot of foam, but not pushing a lot of water through. Let it run with the skimmer lid off for a couple of days and see if it calms down.

If it’s used it likely doesn’t need break in, or minimal...
The more air, the lower the water level. I know, sounds backwards but it’s not...
Open knob on air silencer all the way, and close the water level valve way down, see what ya got. Make small opening adjustments every 15 minutes or so until you get water level inside skimmer where you want it.

How new is the tank? Probably don't want to run the skimmer too soon, gonna make things harder and longer down the road. And if you are using any bacteria starters you shouldn't have it on, would explain that bubble explosion.
New as in just added the water an sand at 3pm eastern time. Today

This fixed it. Thank you now time to work on getting it adjusted

There really is no need to run a skimmer this early .
there will be no organic to remove . Even though it’s used , depending on if it’s been cleaned , what it was cleaned with there might be a slight break in .
As mentioned above when you’re ready leave the lid off and let it run. .
Make small adjustments and wait 10-15 mins

good luck

This is exactly why I went with a external skimmer .
I’ve always found in sump skimmers to be a pain .
My first skimmer was a hob Corallife 125
I went away for Christmas dinner and came home to the whole tank pumped out onto my hardwood floors .

with a external , the return is into the sump .
