HELP WITH DIY BackUp Battery for 2 Mighty Jet pumps by Innovative Marine (326 GPH) Pumps

So I am trying to DIY a battery backup for my Mighty Jet return pumps. I bought the IceCap V3 backup and it didn't work with the pump. So i am planning to make one instead. I have watched this video on youtube:
but would like more feedbacks or recommendations? plan is to get at least 24 Hours runtime.

The Question is, is there any other options out there or suggestions on how to build a DIY Back-up. and no IceCap V3 did not work on the Mighty Jet Return. gives me an E2 error (Under Voltage Protection).

Looked up the pump specs. Two of them will require 37.5 amp hours at 24 vdc, assuming 80% discharge of the batteries.

That's two lawnmower batteries in series. Are you prepared for that much space, weight and cost?

I calculated using...
(15-watts x 2) @ 24 vdc = 1.25 amps/hour x 24-hours = 30 amp/hour batteries

The 35 amp/hour battery will give you some margin, but not much.

I also watched most of the video, and I honestly wasn't that impressed with it. It's too complex a setup for such a simple task.
My recommendation would be to invest in two good quality 12v trickle chargers capable of handling the continuous full-load amps, and draw your pump load directly off the two series-connected batteries. You may need to diode/rectifier isolate the 24v load to avoid feedback through the individual chargers.

I can't get to circuit design software at moment, but I found this handy diagram on the Deltran Battery Tender website. It's how I recommend you setup the battery backup for your 24 vdc pumps. Just make sure the chargers are capable of at least 1.5 amps constant, 2.0+ would be better. That way the chargers can supply the normal power as long as the AC outlet is live, along with some reserve to keep the batteries fresh for outages.

Well, I was finally able to built and finish one... took me more or less 2 hours as I was trying to figure out how the wire goes and how the relay works. I thank God it’s Finally over... here’s some photos. FYI. It doesn’t look good down there. Lol.

Function before Purdy is perfectly acceptable. You can make it purdy later.

Wherever/however you dress it up, make sure it's serviceable. You should plan on testing the backup function at least every six months. And plan on replacing those batteries every 4-5 years or earlier if they lose capacity.

I also highly recommend spraying the battery connections with a battery terminal protector spray. This is my favorite and commonly available at automotive parts stores.

When you get a chance to run a real-life current load test, it would be nice to share that info for others. And it would give you a realistic expectation of the backup time available from your setup.
